In the stillness

It was my birthday, and we are quarantined. But I was lucky enough to spend the whole day outside with my family and animals and still got to have my favorite meal of sushi, coconut cake, and Prosecco! I love the fact that the whole family is home all day together--except when I don't ;). Except when I desperately need for NO ONE to talk to me so I can have my own thoughts. I fully realize how incredibly fortunate we are however, and now that I'm not worried about lack of access to food for my family or animals, I am actually very much at peace in this situation. Except for when my teenager is obstinate, or when a family fight ensues....but that is all to be expected! I actually fully believe that this global situation that we are in is here for a reason. A BIG REASON.
I believe that quarantine and slowing down is going to benefit us all tremendously as a collective. We are all fully aware of how incredibly out of balance our world WAS, right? Misguided priorities, pollution, over consumption, lack of connection to other humans, to animals, to the earth, as well as a lack of real health. This is giving us an opportunity to PAUSE. To breathe. To be still. To recognize what really matters. Of course, there is tremendous stress with loss of jobs, income, and real illness. That is undeniable. However, I urge us all to do our best to remain in our center. To feel the feelings, and allow them to move through. But above all to trust. To trust that this is here so that we can EVOLVE. So that we can level up spiritually. So that we can heal our world.
Hopefully, in the slowness, we can take better care of ourselves. Be more conscious. Examine our lives and make the necessary changes. EAT WELL--eat plant-based. That means more fruits and vegetables than anything else! Fresh, clean, whole food is what your body craves. Our bodies need love! They want to MOVE, they want to be free of addictions, they want to be vital. What you put in, is what you get out. That goes for what you consume, for what you watch, what you read, what you listen to, and what you tell yourself. For example, we should NEVER say anything negative to ourselves about our bodies. Because whether you believe it or not, your body responds! I am in a practice of anointing myself with sacred oils every day. This month, the oil I'm using is meant to be put on the wombspace, the lower belly. This has been a difficult area of my body for me to love for most of my life as it is a "problem area"--but do you know that after almost a month of loving that place on my body, how good it feels? How much my body appreciates it? It is real, and it is wonderful.
So just to be clear, I am in no way perfect at anything that I am talking about. But I know it to be true. And I believe that this is why we are here, right now, in this time. To birth the new world. To be conscious. To create what is really important, what really matters. Like gardening--I'm so serious. That was my birthday present to myself--"Gaia's Garden: A guide to home-scale permaculture". Time to start building our raised beds, a second garden area here on the farm. I figure at this time, few things could be more important to do as a family. I truly hope that you and your loved ones are healthy, safe, and taking this opportunity to evolve.
